Pack size

Fresh Summer Truffle – Tuber aestivum C Grade is a practical culinary selection of very small, cut, partially broken or naturally irregular truffles. It is intended for preparations where the truffle will be chopped, grated, blended or incorporated into the finished dish.

C Grade prioritises culinary usability rather than whole appearance or uniform presentation. The selection may include pieces with cuts, scratches or areas where part of the outer skin is missing. Every batch is inspected before packing and must remain firm and suitable for consumption.

What C Grade Means

  • Species: 100% wild-harvested Tuber aestivum Vittad.
  • Typical weight: Approximately 1–5 g per truffle or piece.
  • Typical diameter: Approximately 1–2 cm.
  • Shape: Very small, irregular, cut or partially broken truffles and pieces.
  • Appearance: May include superficial scratches, clean cuts and areas with partially missing outer skin.
  • Condition: Firm and free from rot, excessive softness, serious deterioration and visible insect infestation.

Aroma, Flavour and Texture

Fresh Tuber aestivum has a delicate earthy and woodland aroma with mild nutty and mushroom-like notes. Its flavour is balanced and savoury, making it suitable for recipes in which the truffle is combined with other ingredients.

The exterior is dark brown to black, while exposed interiors range from pale beige to light hazelnut brown with fine natural marbling. Aroma intensity, interior colour and texture may vary according to maturity, freshness, growing conditions and the individual seasonal batch.

Recommended Culinary Uses

C Grade Summer Truffles are particularly suitable for chopping, grating, sauces, fillings, truffle butter, pasta, risotto, eggs, potatoes and other cooked preparations.

Add them near the end of preparation or combine them with ingredients such as butter, cream, eggs, mild cheese or potatoes. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense direct heat, which may reduce their delicate natural aroma.

Freshness, Packing and Delivery

Fresh truffles are inspected before dispatch and packed in absorbent paper, food-safe protective packaging and insulated packaging with cooling materials. Delivery availability and estimated transit time are shown at checkout.

Storage After Delivery

Follow our fresh truffle storage guide. Refrigerate immediately at 2–4°C in a clean, dry, food-safe container, replace the absorbent paper daily and use the truffles promptly.
