Season and Availability
Fresh Tuber borchii is a seasonal wild product. Availability varies with the current harvest, weather conditions, approved supply batches and stock. The country of origin may vary by batch and is stated on the product label or accompanying commercial documentation.
What EXTRA Grade Means
EXTRA Grade describes the physical selection, presentation and intended culinary use. It does not guarantee stronger aroma. This selection is intended for customers who value well-formed whole specimens for presentation, fine slicing and professional service.
Individual Truffle Size
Individual truffles typically weigh approximately 15–50 g. Available pack sizes are 100 g, 200 g, 500 g and 1 kg. Pack size is the total purchased net quantity and is not the weight of each individual truffle.
Appearance, Aroma and Texture
Exterior colour can range from pale cream and ochre to light reddish brown. The interior can range from pale cream to hazelnut or reddish brown with fine pale veining. Fresh Tuber borchii can develop earthy, mushroom-like, garlicky and lightly nutty notes. Texture should be firm when fresh. Natural variation in colour, marbling, moisture, shape and aroma is expected between specimens and seasonal batches.
How to Use Fresh Tuber borchii
Clean gently only shortly before use. Remove loose soil with a soft brush and use a small amount of cold running water only when necessary. Do not soak. Pat dry with clean absorbent paper.
Slice, shave or finely grate over warm finished dishes and add near the end of preparation or immediately before serving. Suitable pairings include pasta, risotto, eggs, potatoes, butter, cream, mild cheeses, fish and poultry. Avoid prolonged cooking, frying or intense direct heat.
Freshness, Packing and Delivery
Every batch is inspected before dispatch. Truffles are protected with clean absorbent material, placed in food-safe protective packaging and packed in insulated packaging with cooling materials where appropriate.
Available express delivery services and estimated transit times depend on the destination and are shown at checkout. The insulated packaging is designed to help protect the product during transit but does not constitute a continuously monitored cold chain.
Storage After Delivery
Refrigerate immediately at approximately +2°C to +4°C in a clean, dry, closed food-safe container with clean absorbent paper. Check regularly and replace the paper when damp. Keep away from condensation and strongly aromatic foods. Do not wash, slice or grate in advance.
Plan to use the truffles promptly, preferably within approximately 5–8 days of receipt depending on maturity and condition. This is practical guidance, not a guaranteed shelf life.
Returns and Replacements
Fresh truffles are perishable foods, so the standard right of withdrawal may not apply. This does not affect applicable rights if the product arrives damaged, defective, incorrectly supplied or otherwise does not conform to the order.
